Behold the importance of the phase!

Hi everyone, I have not been posting much lately, but here is a little something: an experiment with the 2-D Fast Fourier Transform applied to images. The experiment consists on generating a picture by combining the modulus of the FFT from one image and the phase from another image (this might have some meaning for the more technically inclined ^_^). The result is quite clear: the resulting image bears a lot more resemblance to the one from which the phase was taken! And there you have it. These two pictures I post show Lena Sodenberg (the former playmate and computer graphics star) back when her famous picture was taken, and in the present time. Their moduli and phases have been swapped with one another. Until next time ^_^
